The UN Secretary-General’s Our Common Agenda (OCA) report provides a catalyst for a strengthened United Nations system. With nearly 90 proposals for consideration by member states and others, the OCA is generating considerable activity and discussion on the way forward to revitalize the UN and “turbo-charge the implementation of Agenda 2030”. A C4UN summary of the OCA report is here.
Most OCA recommendations will require a process of discussion and negotiation among Member States and other stakeholders. Notably, the UN General Assembly will hold an initial series of five OCA-related thematic meetings in February and March (including contributions from civil society experts).
The C4UN January 27 Update Call will include discussion of UN developments with respect to the OCA process, as well as updates on campaigning and events initiated by Coalition partners.
